Privacy Policy
Draft for legal review. Last updated 24 October 2026.
This policy explains how WedProof ("we", "us") handles your personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the rules made under it.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us: your name, WhatsApp number, the service you need and your district.
- Technical details: the page you were on, the campaign or website that referred you, your browser type, and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop spam.
- Case documents: if you go ahead with our service, the documents needed for your application (for example ID, address proof, photos and wedding evidence). We collect these only after you agree to proceed.
Why we use it
We use your data only to respond to your enquiry, advise you on the right registration route, prepare and file your application, and keep you updated. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your separate consent.
Consent and withdrawal
We process your enquiry on the basis of the consent you give by ticking the box on our form. You can withdraw consent at any time by messaging us on WhatsApp or emailing us. Once you withdraw, we stop contacting you and delete your enquiry data unless the law requires us to keep it.
Who we share it with
We share your data only with people who need it to complete your request: our empanelled advocates, notaries and stamp vendors, and government offices such as the SDM office and the e-District portal. Our website and database are hosted by Railway; messages may pass through WhatsApp.
Analytics cookies
If you click Accept on our cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device type and how you reached us, with IP addresses anonymised. We never send your name or phone number to Google. If you decline, analytics cookies are not set. To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become cases are deleted within 12 months. Case records are kept for as long as needed to complete your registration and meet legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, or erase it, and you can nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. You can also raise a grievance with us, and if it is not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
